The Hayfield Door System

What makes our doors so special?

  • Hayfield Quality is Built in Every Door
  •        Our door system has been designed to make a door and its components work in harmony. We have proven that it is important to consider the right application and the correct specifications for your door, have high quality parts, and to follow proper assembly and installation procedures.
That's why the Hayfield Door works so well - we design all of our components to work together. Hayfield porducts reduce air and water infiltration by maximizing the seal between the door and the frame. From extensive product testing and experience with door components, we have discovered what it takes to offer the best door components currently available.

    Head and Sill Picture

  • Continuous Sills
  •        Non-continuous sills and headers are weaker, and allow more opportunities for leaks and bad seals. We engineer our continuous sills from the ground up to provide the maximum structural strength and protection from harsh weather. Complete systems are available for patio and entrance door units. All of our units use end seal pads and are caulked where the sill meets the jamb and the mull.

  • Hinges
  •        The Zinc Diachromate finish that comes standard, offers long lasting protection. It can withstand hours of salt spray testing and is guaranteed not to rust. All our hinges are installed with T-nuts on the door jambs for added strength.

  • Corner Pads
  •        At the corner of the door, the weatherstrip is less effective because the soft door bottom does not provide enough compression. The Corner Pad is inserted behind the weatherstrip to increase compression, making a seal between the weatherstrip, the door bottom and the frame.

  • Covered Adjustment Screws
  •        Dirt and water can get into the exposed screws of other adjustable sills. Our Z-series sill has sealing plugs that hide unsightly screws and keep water and dirt away from the adjustment mechanism.

  • Bulb Door Bottom Design
  •        Bulb seals provide more contact with the threshold and hold up better against air preassure and wear and tear.

  • Narrow synthetic Threshold Cap
  •        The simulated walnut wood grain finishes are co-extruded into the material, not just applied. They resist chipping and wear and are immune to rot. These finishes can be repaired using fine sandpaper or steel wool and, in the event of heavy damage, can be replaced easily.

  • Synthetic Nosing
  •        The nosing is made from the same durable co-extruded material as the threshold cap, making it immune to warp and rot, so it won't pull away from the sill.

  • Composite Substrate
  •        The sill can not warp, discolor or rot like wood. As a composite, our sill substrate material is impervious to water.

  • Job Site Sill Cover
  •        The portrait System covers protect the sill from construction damage and preserves the beauty of the sill for the final walk-through.
